What is supported living?

Supported living is about enabling people with disabilities to live their lives as independently as possible with assistance from a support team to facilitate their goals.

This support extends to providing different types of personal care to assist with activities such as; shopping, dressing, washing, cooking, laundry and going to work to name a few.

How the Role makes a Difference

Support Workers play an important role in our society, far greater than a lot of people previously realised. The Coronavirus has shown people how instrumental Carer's and Support Workers are at keeping our vulnerable adults safe and well in the community.

The entire Health and Social Care Sector was kept going by the hard working, courageous staff in the Industry, for the first time highlighting just how significant the role of support worker is.

How do we Recruit our Staff

The people we support lead their own service and are actively involved in the recruitment and selection of all new staff. 

Our service users and their circle of support help us interview and select new staff members. This is to ensure that any new staff are happy to support with the activities and tasks that are meaningful to our service users.

Our service user’s have varying activities that are important to them and we want to ensure that they are supported to get maximum enjoyment from the things they love most.
